Banksia Palliative Care Service Inc.Banksia Supporters
Palliative Care teams work quietly – we make a difference in the lives of our clients and carers every day. We do not seek, nor expect acknowledgement, and as we are reminded regularly that palliative care is not a widely known service in the community, when people do acknowledge the work we do, it is all the more special.
At Banksia, we invest every dollar donated into making our clients’ lives better. We believe that when people donate they want to have a direct impact, and so we use the money to help our clients and carers, who are often experiencing significant financial burden related to lose of income and mounting medical expenses. Donations pay for medications, or utilities, especially electricity, or transportation to and from medical appointments, or equipment and medical supplies, or respite services – whatever our clients need.
We extend our sincerest gratitude to the following supporters – your generosity and interest makes a difference.

The Patchwork Gallery Quilt Group.
Banksia is very appreciative of the in kind and monetary support provided by an outstanding community organisation, The Patchwork Gallery Quilt Group.

In particular group member Mr. Ian Robertson for his loyal support.

Lions Club
Rotary Clubs
Thank you for the support of Rotary Clubs in the north east suburbs, namely: Eltham, Diamond Creek, Heidelberg, Whittlesea, Bundoora and Rosanna for supporting the syringe driver appeal. In particular, Mr. Gordon Birch of the Rotary Club of Eltham, who was influential in attracting such support, in loving memory of his wife Marlene.
We welcome any champions of our cause, like Gordon displayed for Banksia, who have ideas and energy, to help Banksia create more awareness, of the free 24 hour services.
Freemasons Victoria
We are grateful for the unassuming Annual Support of Freemasons Victoria
Also acknowledging the sponsorship of two syringe drivers by Freemasons Victoria Headquarters and the Plenty Valley Lodge for pain management control to be used by members of our community.
We acknowledge the Plenty Valley Lodge and their terrific support to our Street Stall Volunteers in transport and setting up. We are very appreciative of the wonderful ongoing support for many years by the members of the Masters Comets No. 6 Lodge and the Preston and Northcote Lodge.
Banksia has acknowledged the wonderful support of volunteer and member of the Preston Northcote Lodge Mr. Alby Collis who died in December 2010, with a plaque strategically placed in the Volunteer area.
