Community palliative care plays a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals facing serious illnesses and their families. It extends the compassionate support and specialized medical attention required for managing pain, symptoms, and emotional distress outside of a hospital setting. Within this framework, General Practitioners (GPs) hold a crucial role as the primary point of contact, offering continuity of care and personalized assistance. GPs collaborate with the palliative care team to address physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, ensuring that patients can spend their precious time in familiar surroundings while receiving comprehensive and holistic support.
