Banksia Palliative Care Service Inc.

Banksia Palliative Care Service (Banksia) has a dynamic team of health professionals who together, make a difference every day.

The Banksia Service is thriving in the community, and to support this growth we need to expand our team. We are seeking applications from Registered and Enrolled nurses who are passionate, caring, and brave enough to jump out of their comfort zone. 

We are looking for the right people – experience in palliative care is a significant advantage, however we are willing to train and educate as we focus on achieving our goal to meet the needs of every palliative patient in our region.

Banksia has a multidisciplinary palliative care team who provide service in the North-East region of Melbourne, covering the council areas of Banyule, Nillumbik and Whittlesea. The office is situated in Heidelberg.

The successful candidate(s) will:

  • be a strong, passionate, experienced, flexible Nurse with a strong team mentality and a passion for providing the best care to palliative patients and their families.
  • preferably have relevant nursing experience in palliative care (inpatient palliative care or community-nursing experience would be viewed favourably).
  • have current AHPRA registrationa current and unrestricted drivers licence and permanent Australian residency (all essential)
  • have a current working-with-children certificate and agree to have a national police check – mandatory.
  • be motivated by working as part of a cohesive, respectful and dynamic multidisciplinary team.
  • have a demonstrated ability to work unsupervised while maintaining accountability.
  • be available and willing to work weekends, after-hours and on-call as rostered (when trained).
  • have sound, diverse nursing competencies and experience and be willing to undertake education and training to learn about palliative care and community working models.
  • work with management, who focus on team, and prioritise wellness and a positive workplace culture..
